Me - Yeah,
Dizzy, your full names?
Dizzy - Ok,
hummm, (Dizzy and all these his huummmm
huuummmm.....*sighs*) my full name? Dont get scared over my surname cuz it
might sound like a South African name. My full name - Mbata Dozie Emmanuel.
Me - Hun?
Emmanuel? I never knew you bear Emmanuel!
Dizzy - Yeah,
I do!
Me - So, that
means "Dizzy" was gotten from the "Dozie"?
Dizzy - Yeah!
Exactly.
Me - Hum, I
discovered you are a graduate of U.I (University of Ibadan)
Dizzy - Yeah!
Me - And you
studied Theatre Arts?
Dizzy – Yeah!
Me – Hmmmmm, Theatre Arts.
You should be acting too?
Dizzy – Yeah, I did a whole lot
of acting while in school. Theatre Arts is not all about music though. In fact,
everything that has to do with entertainment…..Intellectual
entertainment. There is script writing, there is play writing, there is
management, there is media, there is acting and there is directing.
Me – So, you actually did all
that?
Dizzy – I didn’t do all that. I went for
my area of interest. So, I think I had interest in media, management,
recordings and stuff. I like recording and all that.
Me – Well, thatz cool, thatz
cool. So, if not Music, what would you have gone for?
Dizzy – Well, heeeemmmmm…..There is a shop at
Alaba where I would have love to be.
*And then we both went crazy…..laughing* *He
didn’t
stop there*…..
Selling,
marketing and pushing!......
*Damn!, this guy is something else*….*So, he got
serious and told me the truth*….
Buh, seriously
if not music, I really don’t know what I would be doing……
*then he paused and lifted his head up*……
Maybe, I’ll be playing football!
*I really made jest of him here…….I was like football?.......And
den he said….*
Am a striker!
*I shouted and was like – Yeeeeh!!!*
Me – Are you serious?
Dizzy – Yeah, am a bad striker!
Me – You? Bad
striker?......Well, itz all good! Yeah, I discovered you wanted to be an astronaut.
How true is that?
Dizzy – Huuuummmmm, that was
actually my earliest aspiration…..You know, I wanted to fly!
Me – Really? Buh, I think you
are already flying.
Dizzy – Yeah…..am actually flying
right now, but on land.
*chuckled*
I really
wanted to see how it looks like to fly to the moon all that.
Me – Dizzy, whats up about
this your Latest video – Special Lady?
Dizzy – Ok……hummmmmmm……Special Lady is still ON……Am still pushing it…….you know I did that so
all can see the video aspect of Dizzy.
Me – So, Dizzy can you
quickly tell me about your background?
Dizzy – Huuuuuummmmmmmm……As I have earlier said,
Am Mbata Dozie Emmanuel. Am from Imo State. Igbo kwenu!
*Nobody to answer Eh!*
Me – You won a whole lot of
awards and competitions. Can you just gimme a rundown of the awards?
Dizzy - *sighs*
Well, Huuuuuummmmmmm…..Lemme see, where should I start from? I started with Waves Award
When I got to school. I was the First Runner-Up for Waves Award. I don’t really call them
awards, I call them little achievements. And I was privileged to be on some
platforms and some stages that hummmmm…….lemme say when it comes to entertainment, they
are really relevant. I was on Jimmy’s Jump Off….and that was 2009 or
2010.
Me – Kai! Omo, Dizzy don tey ooooooo!
Dizzy – Yeeeessssooooo! And I
won Charly Boy Show live, 2011.
Me – So, you’ve been with the Area
Father before.
Dizzy – Yeeeesssssoooooo, Area
Father himself. I won Rap battle Lords, that was 2012. I was on Peak Talent
Show, that was 2011 or 12. And I won one eating competition!
*When I heard this, I looked at him and what was
running in my mind is the Meal I was going to buy for him…….Hen?.......Person
wey win eating competition?......Haaaa Modaran loni!.........How much food I
wan buy for am wey go belle full am?*…….*I think he got what I was thinking, so he said……*
Don’t be scared oooooo! It
was just a competition in my house.
*siiiiiigggggghhhhhheeeeddddd…..Thank God!......Then
we laughed it off*
Me – Hen hen, you didn’t make mention of Nescafe…….Are you still their
brand ambassador?
Dizzy – Yeah, as you can see……
*He checked himself to see if he had any color
red on his body*
I have red on
me……my hand band.
Me – And you are also sitting
on a red chair
Dizzy – Yeah. Thanks. Hummmmm, I
actually got connected to Nescafe while I was in school. They had this show
Nescafe Magic Mug they had in school then. And then Big B and Peteru also
helped me in that area. Shout out to Big B, Shout out Peteru and Shout out to
YOU……
*Not me ooooo…….abi why will he be shouting out to me when am by
his side…….He
was referring to YOU!*…….*still
talking about the Nescafe deal…….*
Huuuummmmmm…..the first performance I
had with them, they were really impressed and since then they took me to so
many schools. They actually spread my wings to all other school. You know, then
I was restricted to only my school…….they took me to Kwara Poly, they took me to Ife,
We went to Abuja, we went to Lagos, we went Benin……and we went to huuuummmmm…..Ibadan…….we came back to Ibadan
again!
Me – Dizzy, shey o le so
Yourba? – “Dizzy, Can you
speak Yoruba?”
Dizzy - *In Igbo accent* Yeah, Mo le so Yoruba
di e. Buh my Yoruba is on point….I mean, mo speeeeeennnnnndddddd *He was looking for the Yoruba translation
of Four by demonstrating with his four fingers…….and then I helped him out*
Me – Merin
Dizyy – Hen hen…merin. I spent four years
in Ibadan. And to be candid, Yoruba is really funny, there is mama and there is
momo…….
Guyz, am tired
of typing……..Enjoy the
pictures! The pictures will talk the talk better!
And hen hen, I almost forgot.......Dizzy is very good at freestyles.......So he did a freestyle for The Charming Humble Nice Guy! Watch the video........
After the freestyle, he was made A CHARMING HUMBLE NICE GUY!
And then, Hunger got hold of us....So, we (Dizzy, I and his manager) decided to battle with the forks and knives.
We lack table manners......even while we eat, we couldn't stop gisting.
After winning the battle with the forks and knives.......we went outside and did a lil familiarity.......
And I signed out!
Mc Jawbone
